Jambe Asri ATV Guide: Barong Cave & Waterfalls

The appeal is the change of scenery. The Barong entrance gives the ride its recognizable landmark, while the waterfall and bridge sections give you a very different view of the track. Between them, there is actual off-road riding through jungle, river terrain, rice-field scenery and mud.

Think of these as features of a guided route, rather than separate attractions you visit at your own pace. The instructor sets the order and spacing. Access to individual sections can change with weather, maintenance and conditions on the day.

Barong Cave and the waterfall sections

Barong Cave, also called Goa Barong, is the named cave feature at Jambe Asri ATV. The carved face frames the entrance; the passage is part of the ride. If that entrance is the reason you saved an ATV video, ask for Jambe Asri and Barong Cave by name when booking.

The package also includes two waterfalls along the route. Wet rock, water and vegetation make this part visually different from the open fields. It is an ATV waterfall section, so plan for splashes and guided stops, rather than a separate swimming excursion. Water flow and the exact appearance vary with conditions.

The flying bridge: a different view of the trail

On the flying bridge, the track narrows to a crossing above the water. The photograph makes its appeal easy to understand: ATV, bridge and green surroundings in the same frame. Follow the guide's spacing and crossing instructions, and leave photography until an approved stop.

Jungle, rice fields and the muddy finish to your clothes

The quieter scenery matters too. Rice fields open up the view after the enclosed cave and rock sections, while the jungle and river track bring shade and uneven ground. Mud adds the messy part of the experience; its depth and texture depend on recent weather.

Pack for the whole route, not just the cave photograph. A spare set of clothes makes it much easier to enjoy the wet sections without thinking about the car seat afterwards.

Do not choose Tandem on the assumption that you can swap drivers anywhere. Ask the on-site team whether a change is permitted and where it can happen. For children, send their ages before booking so the operator can confirm the appropriate option.

If photographs are a big reason for booking, ask about the photo service and its price before the ride. Do not assume a photo package is included because you have seen professional images in a listing. Ask the guide where you can stop for your own photos, and keep your phone secured while moving.

Jambe Asri ATV is on Jl. Pura Dalem Tegal Tamu, Batubulan, Sukawati, Gianyar, Bali. It is south of central Ubud, although the experience is often marketed as an Ubud ATV tour. Use the confirmed venue pin when navigating; a search for a generic Ubud quad-bike meeting point can send you to a different track.

Hotel pickup is optional on baseBali. The rates below are per car, added to the ATV total. Select your hotel area on the product page, then send the exact hotel or villa name for the pickup time and meeting details.

For two guests sharing one Tandem with one Ubud pickup car, the listed total is Rp 900,000 + Rp 400,000 = Rp 1,300,000. For two Singles with the same pickup, it is Rp 1,700,000.

For the same Tandem booking from Kuta, Sanur, Seminyak or Canggu, the total is Rp 1,500,000. From Nusa Dua or Jimbaran, it is Rp 1,600,000. These examples cover the ATV and one pickup car; optional purchases are separate. Larger groups should confirm the number of cars needed.

Allow for road travel in both directions when planning your day. The useful question is the pickup and return estimate for your actual hotel and slot, rather than a single journey time applied to every Bali resort area.

Jambe Asri's guided ATV riding time is 1–1.5 hours. That is not the time from leaving your hotel to returning. Registration, the briefing, equipment fitting, showering, changing and lunch sit around the ride. Group pace and conditions can also affect the schedule.

If you have a dinner reservation or another activity, work backwards from that commitment before picking an ATV slot. A morning ride can leave more room for the rest of the day, but it is not a promise of an empty track. Ask for available times and a realistic return estimate together.

Ordinary rain does not automatically cancel the ride. The operator decides whether conditions allow it to run or require route changes. If a specific cave or waterfall section is your priority, ask about access when confirming your date.

Jambe Asri provides instruction and training for first-time riders. You still need to be comfortable following directions on wet, uneven terrain. Use the briefing to ask about braking, throttle control and the parts of the route you feel uncertain about.

For couples with different confidence levels, Tandem lets one person drive while the other experiences the same scenery as a passenger. Friends who both want to drive will usually get more from separate Singles than from sharing purely to reduce the price.

It suits travelers looking for a guided, muddy activity with recognizable landmarks. It is a weaker fit if your priority is staying dry, riding independently at your own speed or spending unlimited time photographing each feature. Send children's ages in advance; rider and passenger eligibility must be confirmed by the operator.

Prepare for the ride and the clean journey afterwards. The package provides boots and a towel, but your own change of clothes is what makes the rest of the day comfortable.
