Green Bali Adventure in Ubud: ATV, Buggy or Rafting, and How to Pick

Green Bali Adventure is an activity site in the Ubud area of Bali offering guided ATV rides, a Buggy, and rafting on the Ayung River. Here is the short version before the detail.

There are four activities and eight packages. Here is how they compare on price and on what you actually do.

Book the 250cc ATV if you want the cheapest way onto the track and you have never ridden one. Book the 350cc if you want more power on the same route, since both engine sizes follow the identical guided route. Book the Buggy if somebody in the group would rather sit in a seat with a steering wheel than balance on a quad bike. Book rafting if you want the cheapest activity on the site, at Rp 400,000 per person on a shared boat.

The private rafting boat needs arithmetic. At Rp 1,200,000 for a maximum of three people, it works out at Rp 400,000 each with three on board, which is the same as shared. With two people it is Rp 600,000 each, and alone it is the full Rp 1,200,000. Book the private boat with three people or accept that you are paying for privacy.

No prepayment is needed. What you send through the form is a booking request rather than a confirmed booking, and I come back on WhatsApp with availability, the package, and the transport. If a date is full, you hear it from me before any money moves.

The ATV and Buggy route runs through countryside and off-road terrain in the Ubud area, and both vehicles follow the same course. There are six sections.

You start through rice fields and agricultural scenery. From there the route hits a muddy track where grip changes depending on recent rain. Next comes Dragon Cave, which is a constructed feature on the track rather than a natural cave, so book elsewhere if a natural cave is what you were picturing. After that the route passes a section with waterfall scenery, then a special off-road stretch built to add bumps, turns, and technical control, and finishes on a narrower trail through a small jungle.

Conditions change. The route can be adjusted for weather, maintenance, safety, or operations, and the mud and water are never identical two days running. That is normal for an off-road track.

Single means one rider or driver on the vehicle. Tandem means one driver and one passenger sharing the same ATV or Buggy. Both ATV and Buggy prices are charged per vehicle rather than per person.

Tandem is the cheaper way for two people to ride. Two people on one Tandem 250cc pay Rp 750,000 between them, while two Single 250cc machines cost Rp 1,100,000. The gap is Rp 350,000, which is most of another activity.

Go Single anyway if you both want your own controls and neither of you wants to be a passenger for 90 minutes. Go Tandem if one of you is nervous, or if you want the money for something else the same day.

The Ayung River rafting route covers approximately 10 km with a guide. Shared rafting is Rp 400,000 per person, and a private boat is Rp 1,200,000 for a maximum of three participants.

River conditions depend on rainfall, water level, weather, and the operator's call on the day. Exact duration is confirmed before booking rather than fixed in advance, because a river after heavy rain is not the same river as one in a dry week.

Rafting is the one activity here that suits people who do not want to drive anything. It is also the cheapest thing on the site.

Every listed package includes the same support around the activity, whichever one you pick.

Insurance applies subject to the operator's terms, participant eligibility, and following the activity instructions.

Lunch and a shower being standard changes how the day works. You finish the activity, clean up, change, and eat without leaving the site or paying anything extra at the end.

The sequence is the same for all three activities. You arrive at the Green Bali Adventure meeting point and register, then put your things in a locker. You get the equipment for whichever activity you booked and attend the safety briefing.

Then you do the activity. Afterwards you return the equipment, use the shower, towel, and changing facilities, and take the included lunch.

Timing can shift with weather, track or river conditions, group readiness, and operations.

The ATV and Buggy tracks are wet, muddy, uneven, and slippery, and the rafting depends entirely on the river that day. Neither activity has a gentle version.

Anyone with a relevant health condition needs to disclose it before booking rather than on arrival, since eligibility depends on the activity you pick and the operator's safety assessment. Nobody can take part while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Skip it if wet or muddy clothing would ruin your day, because your clothes and shoes are going to get both.

Hotel transport is not included in any package price, but it can be added and is charged per car rather than per person.

Per-car pricing rewards groups and punishes solo travelers. Four people from Canggu split Rp 600,000 and pay Rp 150,000 each. One person pays the whole Rp 600,000, which is more than a shared rafting seat costs.

It is also worth noticing if you are coming from Ubud itself. Transport from Ubud is Rp 400,000 per car, and a shared rafting seat is Rp 400,000 per person, so for one or two people the transport can cost as much as the activity. Making your own way there is the obvious move for small groups already staying nearby.

Green Bali is the cheapest of the adventure sites I book, starting at Rp 400,000 for rafting and Rp 550,000 for an ATV. It is also the only one where the group can split across three different activities on the same visit.

What it does not have is a natural cave. Dragon Cave here is a built track feature. If riding through a real cave underground is the thing you want, the Kuber ATV guide covers a 400 m natural cave, and the Alasan Adventure ATV guide covers Gorilla Cave on a different track. Those cost more.

Pick Green Bali on price, on variety, or when the group cannot agree on one activity. Pick the others when a specific section is the reason you are going.

Wear clothes that can get wet or muddy, and secure footwear. Nothing you would mind ruining.

Bring a change of clothes, sunscreen, and any personal medication you need. A locker, shower, and towel are provided, so you have somewhere to leave your things and a way to clean up before lunch.
